Why Vacuuming Isn’t Considered Cleaning

If you think vacuuming gets the job done, think again. It can only do as much as removing visible dirt on your carpet.

What Vacuuming Can Only Do

There are a lot of ways to clean your carpet. However, vacuuming can’t really be considered as one. The cleaning effect it brings is very minimal, and although it is essential to keep your place neat and tidy, you can’t rely on to it keep your carpet clean because it is never enough. Here are some of the reasons why vacuuming can’t be considered clean.

It only cleans the top layer

A vacuum, no matter how powerful and heavy-duty it is, can’t reach the deeper layer of the carpet which holds a buildup of dust, dirt, dead skin cells, pet urine, and more. All these bacteria can spread around your home if you will just rely on a vacuum for cleaning.

It won’t prevent mold and odor

This is especially applicable if you live somewhere humid since a vacuum can’t suck out moisture. Also, if you have pets, spills, or smoke, the underlying smell can’t be solved by a vacuum cleaner. It can get trapped in your carpet and cause mold and odor.

It can’t maintain its look

Only a professional steam cleaning can provide a deep clean for your carpet to maintain its nice look. Spots and stains won’t also be solved by a couple-times-a-week vacuuming.

It can’t protect its warranty

Not only your carpet can’t last long for not looking nice and being thoroughly clean, but it would also hinder you from using your warranty. Most warranties require you to have a professional cleaning every 12-18 months. If not, then you won’t be able to use your warranty.

The Bottomline

Vacuuming is essential, but only in between each steam cleaning. You cannot fully rely on and put all the responsibilities of cleaning the carpet to your vacuum. After all, if you really want to keep your carpet clean and your health safe, then go for a professional carpet cleaning at least once a year.
